Tested against the most D-locks on the market, LITELOK X1 is at least 5 times more resistant to angle grinder cuts. Additionally, X1 requires multiple discs to cut and due to its anti-rotation system, needs to be cut on both sides to remove.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can X1 be cut with an angle grinder?
Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on a number of factors like the power of the angle grinder, the type of discs used and the skill of the user. During our own and independent tests we found that X1 is at least 5 times more angle grinder resistant than the current leading d-lock as well as needing multiple discs to cut it.
How much does LITELOK X1 weigh?
LITELOK X1 weighs approximately 1.7kgs or 3.7lbs.
What's the difference between X1 Bike and X1 Moto?
There is no difference between the Bike and Moto versions. They are exactly the same locks. The reason why we differentiate them is to show how X1 can be used as an effective security device for all types of bicycles and motorcycles.
What is the locking circumference of LITELOK X1?
LITELOK X1 has a full-sized locking circumference of approximately 101 x 196mm meaning you can lock more bikes in more places than other armoured u-locks.
Has LITELOK X1 been independently tested?
Yes, it has been thoroughly tested by Sold Secure and both locks achieve Sold Secure Powered Cycle and Bicycle Diamond levels (the highest ratings available).
(Note: Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association (a not-for-profit trade association) and works from purpose built laboratories in the UK.

Our founder and CEO, Professor Neil Barron, supported by Innovate UK, worked closely with some of the world’s leading material scientists for over 5 years to develop Barronium®, our ground breaking angle grinder resistant technology.
What is LITELOK X1 made from?
LITELOK X1 is built with Barronium®, a patent-pending anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armour, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.
The X range comprises of three layers of protection:
1. A fine-grain, hardened high-tensile steel core providing inner strength against multiple tool attacks
2. Barronium™ anti-angle grinder armour, permanently fused to the core to repel angle grinder discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer is soft to touch, so it won't damage your frame.
What is the warranty?
LITELOK X1 is sold with a 3 year warranty to provide peace of mind and covers mechanical or operational faults through normal usage. The warranty does not cover aesthetic wear and tear. It is important to register your lock and keys with us so that in the event that you lose your keys, replacements can be ordered.

As well as being very secure the lock has been coated with highly visible reflective material. A nice safety feature. The lock has a smooth locking mechanism which I didn't feel with other bike locks. It is fairly heavy lock, but overall it provides a good balance between its compact size and the security it provides. I had two of my bikes stolen in the past, so for me it was an essential purchase.

The X1 Litelock was just thin enough to get it through my disk while giving me the confidence it won't be cut. If anyone would want to get it off I think they would go through the disk and spokes of the wheel instead, damaging the bike.
I mounted it using the Tactical mount and it fits well. The reflective strip around the lock makes it look more visible from the side profile however it does get scratched off where it comes into contact with the bike. Overall really pleased but a more versatile mounting system for a motorcycle would be amazing.

I did loads of research when looking for added security for my bike, and I was always drawn back to litelok. Yes they are not the cheapest but they are definitely the strongest plus british made 🇬🇧. Locking you bike does not always stop people from getting your bike but this thing does not budge, yes they can lift you bike but it will take a few people to do this, but they will deffo not get this lock off that's for sure!

This is the second lock I have purchased from LITELOK, the first being for my BMW motorcycle. The quality of the locks is excellent and yes they may cost more than some others but you know that you are getting a first class piece of engineering that will help protect your pride and joy whether it’s a motorcycle or bicycle. I chose the litelock X1 for my new e-bike as I wanted a lock that could withstand an angle grinder. It came with a tactical mount however I can’t use it as I would have to remove my water bottle. It does however sit nicely on my carrier. Would definitely recommend any litelock as they are all well thought out and engineered.

Angle grinder resistance was the big win here. Everyone i know in Bristol has a bike theft story where the bike was taken in seconds due to the power and speed of angle grinders these days. I had stopped taking my bike to certain parts of Bristol.
