LITELOK X1 Saves Triumph Motorcycle in Bulgaria #148

In the early hours of 26 August, Derek’s 2022 Triumph Street Scrambler became the target of an attempted theft in Pernik, Bulgaria.

Derek, who is also a LITELOK affiliate, was visiting a friend in a neighbouring city and had left his motorcycle outside a garage. The bike, valued at approximately €7,000–€9,000, was secured using a LITELOK X1 alongside the motorcycle’s steering lock.

At around 2:43am, footage captured what appears to be an attempt to move the motorcycle. From the footage, it looks as though the would-be bike thieves tried to roll the bike away, but the way the X1 had been positioned between the spokes and forks prevented them from successfully moving it.

"It had the X1 only, locked between the spokes and forks, and the steering lock. Nothing else I could lock it to safely that night."

In an ideal setup, a motorcycle lock would be used to secure the bike to a suitable fixed object. On this occasion, however, Derek didn't have anything nearby that he could safely lock the bike to.

"I was in a neighbouring city, visiting a friend and left the bike outside of a garage for the first time, so it was the perfect time to actually use the X1. I ended up only with a broken steering lock, so I'm beyond grateful for what your X1 did for me that night!"

For Derek, the result was simple: his bike was still there the next morning, with only the steering lock damaged.
