Neil recently reached out to share his experience after an attempted theft of his motorcycle in Samlesbury, Lancaster, on the 4th of May at 2am.
He had only recently started using the LITELOK X1 PLUS when the incident occurred, and what followed became a clear demonstration of real-world protection in action.
Neil’s new Triumph Daytona, less than three weeks old, was targeted in a hotel car park during the early hours of Monday morning.
"Only had the Litelok a week and it’s saved my bike already."
"The attempt took place in a hotel car park in Samlesbury Lancaster. The bike is a Triumph Daytona and is less than 3 weeks old. It happened 2am Monday morning, the thieves tried to smash the lock with a hammer before they were disturbed by the hotel staff."
Although the thieves were interrupted by hotel staff, the situation already highlighted the attack attempt, and the importance of strong security.
As you can see in the image, the hammer has hardly dented the outer coating of the lock, only causing a cosmetic mark, despite the force of the attack.
The LITELOK X1 PLUS is engineered specifically to withstand aggressive theft tools and methods. Armoured with Barronium®, a patented composite material designed to resist angle grinder attacks by dispersing energy back into the tool, it provides significantly enhanced protection compared to traditional locks. Combined with a hardened high-tensile steel core, it is designed to withstand common attack tools including bolt croppers, hammers, and chisels, offering riders an added layer of confidence when leaving their bikes unattended.
"It was only the second night I’d had it on my bike as the Litelok was delivered to my mother’s house and I picked it up Saturday. The lock is great I push it under the grab handles when I’m heading out, it would probably sit there without moving but I’ve got some Velcro straps to secure it. Thanks again I couldn’t rate this lock enough."
Neil’s experience highlights how quickly theft attempts can happen, even in seemingly secure locations like hotel car parks, which can feel safe but aren’t always, as thieves may target them knowing riders are likely to be passing through on stop-offs and that bikes may be left unattended for long periods. It also underscores the importance of choosing robust, purpose-built security solutions such as those developed by LITELOK.
