When Mitch invested in his e-bike, he knew protecting it was just as important as enjoying the ride. Living in Manchester, where bike theft is unfortunately common, he chose to secure his £1850 e-bike with the LITELOK X1. That decision paid off.
“Your guys lock saved my bike! Someone broke into our building, cut a hole into our bike locker and attempted to steal mine (the only e-bike in the locker). Completely unsuccessful just a few marks on it. So, they took someone else’s bike instead with an inferior lock. Pictures attached!”
The incident took place in Manchester, UK on the evening of 2nd September/early morning of 3rd September.
“Someone breached the pedestrian gate into our under croft parking area which also houses the apartment buildings bike locker. They then cut a hole into the bike locker cage so they could put their arm in and press the unlock button from the inside. They have tried to steal mine but the X1 easily stopped them, there’s just marks in the rubber coating of the lock.
Looks like they then proceeded to steal another bike instead which had an easier to break lock. The lock 100% saved the bike. They’d even fully spun round the bike to try and get it as it was facing the opposite way to how I left it, quite difficult with a 36kg e-bike! They were determined but very glad I got the X1!”
Mitch’s experience shows how determined thieves can be, but also how the LITELOK X1 stood up to the test and stopped them in their tracks.
In urban areas like Manchester we recommend adopting a multi-layered locking approach and when locked to an immovable object, you have the best set up to stop thieves.
