On June 24th, an attempted theft of a high-value e-scooter was foiled — thanks to the strength and resilience of the LITELOK X1.
Aaron, an e-scooter enthusiast from the Black Country, shares how the lock stood alone in defending his beloved ride.
"LITELOK X1 stopped an attempted theft of my very expensive Dualtron Storm E-Scooter. The incident happened in a place in the Black Country called Wednesbury, High Bullen. It was outside the leisure centre located there."
"My scooter received a little bit of damage and my steering dampener was cut in the process of the attempted theft, but I still have my scooter."
"The Dualtron Storm E-Scooter is well over £3,500. When I bought it a few years ago it was in pristine condition until this attempted theft because the would-be thief cut into the steering dampener.
It was only locked up with the X1 outside to a Sheffield stand… and no other security devices so the X1 defended my scooter alone and I am thankful for that."
While Aaron’s Dualtron Storm suffered minor damage, the X1 prevented a total loss, doing exactly what it was built to do.
"It’s been reported to the police but I’m not expecting much of a result. There was CCTV outside — whether or not the authorities will pursue it is anyone’s guess."
Aaron now plans to purchase a LITELOK X3.
