Can X3 be cut with an angle grinder?
Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on a number of factors like the power of the angle grinder, the type of discs used and the skill of the user. During our own and independent tests we found that X3 is at least 20 times more angle grinder resistant than the current leading D-locks as well as needing multiple discs and batteries to cut it.
How much does LITELOK X3 weigh?
LITELOK X3 weighs approximately 2.1kgs or 4.6lbs.
What's the difference between X3 Bike and X3 Moto?
There is no difference between the Bike and Moto versions. They are exactly the same locks. The reason why we differentiate them is to show how X3 can be used as an effective security device for all types of bicycles and motorcycles.
What's the difference between X1 and X3?
LITELOK X1 and X3 are both highly resistant to angle grinder cuts. This resistance comes from the layers of Barronium® that each lock features. X3 uses a higher amount of Barronium® meaning it has a higher resistance to angle grinder cuts than X1. X1 has at least 5 times the resistance to angle grinder cuts compared to the best selling D-locks whereas X3 has at least 20 times the resistance.
What is the locking circumference of LITELOK X3?
LITELOK X3 has a full-sized locking circumference of approximately 100 x 195mm.
Has LITELOK X3 been independently tested?
Yes, it has been thoroughly tested by Sold Secure and both locks achieve Sold Secure Powered Cycle and Pedal Cycle Diamond levels (the highest ratings available). It has also been tested by ART, and certified ART4.
(Note: Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association (a not-for-profit trade association) and works from purpose built laboratories in the UK.

Our founder and CEO, Professor Neil Barron, supported by Innovate UK, worked closely with some of the world’s leading material scientists for over 5 years to develop Barronium®, our ground breaking angle grinder resistant technology.
What is LITELOK X3 made from?
LITELOK X3 is built with Barronium®, a patent-pending anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armour, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.
The X range comprises of three layers of protection:
1. A fine-grain, hardened high-tensile steel core providing inner strength against multiple tool attacks
2. Barronium® anti-angle grinder armour, permanently fused to the core to repel angle grinder discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer is soft to touch, so it won't damage your frame.
What is the warranty?
LITELOK X3 is sold with a 7-year warranty to provide peace of mind and covers mechanical or operational faults through normal usage. The warranty does not cover aesthetic wear and tear. It is important to register your lock and keys with us so that in the event that you lose your keys, replacements can be ordered.

Pro: High security according to tests in the internet. I haven't tried to break it myself. Not made in China.
Con: Heavy. Thicker than usual, so it does not fit in the mount I have. It happened once that the key was stuck! It took effort to get it working again. High price. The finish is a little rough. The provided mount is made to be attached to thick tubes on a bike. My tubes are more thin and I can't mount it properly on the frame. So I need to tinker something to attach it to the carrier rack at the back.

For what the lock packs it is very light.
I used to use a 19mm case and through hardened steel chain with a kasp closed shackle padlock (19070X).
The litelock X3 (also X1) offers much better protection against attacks than that combination does.
The X3 uses an Abloy 1 locking cylinder which is solidly encased in the shackle body, that is currently the most pick resistant cylinder in any bike lock.
If it has a key it can be picked so let's get that out the way. Having said that this is expert level picking.
Bolt cutters can't get a grip on it (42" ones).
I've seen this lock cut by an expert. It took 5 cutting discs to remove the lock from a bike using a mains powered angle grinder in around 4 minutes.
It's main competition is the DX1000 which took 6 discs to get off (but splitting hairs at this point). But the X3 has a much better cylinder and you can't get a ram into it to bust the lock from the shackle.
So I personally believe this is the best lock out there at the moment.
From what I've seen of bike racks it would be easier to cut the rack than the X3.
