WHICH IS THE BETTER LOCK: LITELOK GO OR LITELOK ONE? +

Both offer incredible security and so the decision should be based on security rating, weight and style.
If you are looking for the lightest lock then LITELOK GO is the one for you, weighing from as little as 641g it is the lightest in our range and offers the most flexibility. There are different shapes and sizes depending on your preference. GO FLEXI-O can be worn with an additional wearable kit. GO FLEXI-U is a flexible and lightweight alternative to D-locks.
For increased security and locking length, then LITELOK ONE is ideal. Locking length ranges from 74cm to 104cm and as it is +50% wider than LITELOK GO, it will provide even greater protection from potential attack. LITELOK ONE is available as either a FLEXI-O format, our smallest ONE lock and ideal for mounting and carrying within the frame. The ONE WEARABLE range is available in three sizes (93cm, 100cm and 108cm) and includes an integrated lock stopper, ideal for wearing safely round your hips whilst riding. There are three colours to choose from.

CAN I PURCHASE MULTIPLE LITELOKS THAT OPERATE FROM THE SAME SET OF KEYS? +

Our LITELOK Twins can be operated from the same set of keys. However, if you want 3 or more LITELOKs, or 2 LITELOK ONE Wearables to operate from the same set of keys then please add the following note on the cart page: “Please key alike all locks in this order” It is worth noting that because this would be a custom order, there is a lead time of 7 working days and we would be unable to accept returns or issue refunds as a consequence.

HOW DO I LOCK MY BIKE WITH A LITELOK? +

We would always recommend that you use your LITELOK to secure your back wheel and frame to a fixed, immovable object. Ideally use a LITELOK to secure the front wheel too. Keep your LITELOK off the ground and always check your locks before leaving your bike. If you are using a LITELOK ONE Wearable, please make sure that the lockstopper isn’t around the lock, as this will stop it from locking.

WHAT ARE LITELOKS MADE FROM? +

LITELOK GO and ONE strap is made from a patented composite material called Boaflexicore. It consists of multiple components, including hundreds of strands of high tensile steel. These allow Boaflexicore to be strong, yet flexible. The lock housing is made from virtually indestructible hardened steel with drill resistant, marine grade stainless steel rivets.

LITELOK CORE strap is made from Boaflexicore Plus, our strongest bike lock technology; a multi-layered security strap built to flex in sync to retain maximum security and flexibility and joined to an aerospace grade hardened steel inline lock body.

HAVE YOUR LOCKS BEEN INDEPENDENTLY TESTED? +

All of our products are insurance rated and tested by independent anti-theft agencies Sold Secure (UK), which is owned by the Master Locksmiths Association and ART (NL). Both organisations are recognised experts when it comes to testing the security of bike and motorcycle locks and use a variety of tools and methods that are common in real-life bike theft.

WILL LITELOKS SCRATCH MY BIKE? +

If you correctly attach your LITELOK to your bike with the supplied WrapStraps or Frame Mounts then it will not scratch your bike. When securing a LITELOK, please ensure any exposed metal casings or components aren’t touching your bike frame.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LITELOK MOTO AND LITELOK ONE? +

Both LITELOK ONE and LITELOK ONE Moto are made from the same patented Boaflexicore technology and are rated Sold Secure Motorcycle Silver by Britain’s leading security testing facility, Sold Secure. LITELOK Moto is longer than LITELOK ONE Flexi-O range and comes with two reflective neoprene skins for increased visibility. These are available in both black and red.

WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF A LITELOK ONE MOTO? +

Length – 107.5cm (42.3in)
Locking Circumference – 103.5cm (40.7in)

HOW MUCH DOES A LITELOK ONE MOTO WEIGH? +

A LITELOK Moto 108 weighs 1.46 kg (3.21 lb).

IS LITELOK ONE MOTO A PORTABLE BIKE LOCK OR FOR ALL-ROUND USE? +

Yes LITELOK ONE Moto locks are designed to be high-security, portable bike locks. Weighing only 1.46 kg, they are considerably lighter than security-rated equivalent chain locks, making them much easier to take on your bike rides.

ARE THE LITELOK SKINS MACHINE WASHABLE? +

Yes they are machine washable. We would recommend putting them on a delicates wash of 30 degrees.

WHAT IS BOAFLEXICORE? +

Every LITELOK is made from tough stuff with our patented technologies using either Boaflexicore® or Boaflexicore Plus; multi-layered bike security strap joined to aerospace grade steel lock housing, creating flexible yet extremely strong bike locks.

LITELOK GO and ONE use Boaflexicore® technology made of innovative lightweight composite materials, providing layers of security, incredible flexibility and joined to a virtually indestructible hardened steel alloy lock housing.
LITELOK CORE uses Boaflexicore Plus, our strongest bike lock technology; a multi-layered security strap built to flex in sync to retain maximum security and flexibility and joined to an aerospace grade hardened steel inline lock body.

CAN LITELOKS WITHSTAND TWISTING ATTACKS? +

It’s almost impossible to break a LITELOK through twisting it with a crowbar or wrecking bar. Both LITELOK GO, ONE and CORE are made have incredible resistance to torsion attack, because as a crowbar is turned, energy builds up within the tensioned Boaflexicore/Boaflexicore Plus material which coils and will spring back violently once released.

CAN LITELOKS WITHSTAND BOLT CROPPER ATTACKS? +

LITELOK has category leading resistance against bolt croppers since the Boaflexicore and Boaflexicore Plus technology is tough and flexible. The components of the material are non-contiguous. Bike thieves using bolt croppers will usually attempt to break a lock by creating a nick which turns into a crack because the metal is contiguous – it consists of an uninterrupted series of atoms. Boaflexicore was made so that it spreads and squashes by placing more material in front of the cut so that it can’t be cut.

CAN LITELOK WITHSTAND FIRE ATTACKS? +

LITELOKs can withstand attacks from a flame torch for a substantial amount of time and a thief would probably give up trying with a flame torch before breaking through a LITELOK. However, using a flame is not a common technique to break locks and steal bikes.

CAN LITELOK WITHSTAND ANGLE GRINDER ATTACKS? +

Unfortunately no bike lock is able to withstand constant attack from an angle grinder.

WHAT IS LITELOK CORE MADE OF? +

LITELOK CORE is comprised of two key components: Boaflexicore Plus and a hardened steel inline lock body

Boaflexicore Plus is a 24mm (15/16”) layered, flexible security strap. From the outside in; the braided sleeve provides abrasion resistance. Next a bonded plant based polymer provides the first line of defence whilst offering corrosion resistance and weather proofing. In the third layer, 19mm (¾”) interlocking hardened steel links of the exoskeleton absorb destructive energy during attack whilst encasing the high tensile steel core. All layers flex in sync to retain maximum flexibility without compromising on security.

Steel inline lock body is made from aerospace grade hardened steel. Inside, an intelligent stainless steel structure resists impact from attack including -40oC freeze spray and hammer/chisel blows. At the heart of the product is a pick resistant disc detainer lock, tested to 10,000 open and close locking cycles.

The Boaflexicore Plus is joined to the lock body with four marine grade stainless steel rivets to withstand drilling and torsion attacks.

HOW DOES LITELOK CORE COMPARE TO OTHER TYPES OF BIKE LOCK? +

Unlike a U lock or D lock that is constructed from stiff, solid steel components that can be easily broken with a crowbar, LITELOK CORE uses multiple layers of composite materials with a flexible construction, allowing energy to be absorbed during attack.

Unlike a chain that is constructed from stiff steel links and easily cracked and broken with bolt croppers, LITELOK CORE has a layered, flexible construction which absorbs energy but also allows movement away from the cutting attack plane.

Unlike a cable that is constructed from steel wires alone and easily broken with cable cutters, LITELOK CORE has a two component polymer outer layer dissipating the initial attack, a fine grain hardened steel exoskeleton which absorbs energy and protects the flexible inner core which provides extremely high tensile strength.

IS LITELOK CORE A CABLE LOCK OR ARMOURED CABLE LOCK? +

No it’s a hybrid lock comprised of two key components: Boaflexicore Plus; a multiple layered, flexible security strap built to flex in sync to retain maximum flexibility without compromising on security and joined to a hardened steel inline lock body.

WHEN SHOULD YOU USE LITELOK CORE? +

LITELOK CORE has been designed for the highest risk bike crime areas and perfect to protect high value bikes, Electric bikes, scooters and motorcycles.

WHAT TOOLS WILL LITELOK CORE WITHSTAND? +

LITELOK CORE has been independently tested to withstand sustained attack from the most common theft tools, achieving Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond (the highest level of bike security) and Sold Secure Motorcycle Gold. The test standards used and duration of attack are confidential to the independent testing companies, however, LITELOK CORE is tested across all of the common theft tools including; hammer and chisels, hacksaws, crow bars, cordless drill, bolt croppers and cable cutters to withstand sustained attack.

LITELOK CORE has undergone rigorous testing against a wide range of common theft tools by independent and impartial testing organisations for insurance purposes. As with all locks, a determined thief with the right tools and enough time will eventually be able to break through any lock but we’ve engineered our LITELOK CORE with layers of security and different materials to make it incredibly difficult.

WILL LITELOK CORE WITHSTAND AN ANGLE GRINDER ATTACK? +

LITELOK CORE is rated as Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond, which is the highest level of insurance rated bike security and also Motorcycle Gold and LITELOK CORE offers our highest level of resistance to angle grinders. There isn’t a portable bike lock on the market that can withstand an angle grinder attack for a significant amount of time. As with all locks, a determined thief with the right tools and enough time will eventually be able to break through any lock but we’ve engineered our LITELOK CORE with layers of security and different materials to make it incredibly difficult.

IS LITELOK CORE THE SAME AS LITELOK ONE? +

No LITELOK CORE is an entirely redesigned lock. It shares some of the same features such as being light, flexible, click to lock and pairable but the Boaflexicore Plus strap has been entirely redesigned from the inner core out. It is not pairable to our current Litelok Gold because LITELOK CORE is of a higher security rating.

It’s a hybrid lock, offering multiple layers of protection, combining the security and flexibility of heavy chains but at half the weight. Four layers of protection flex in sync to retain maximum flexibility without compromising on security.
